Theological Journal of the Pontifical Theological Faculty in Wroc³aw 9 (2001) 2, 141-150.

Author argues that in works of Luke (Luke-Acts) prophets' role is determined by their function of announcing God's will. In narration about Jesus in the synagogue in Nazareth (Luke 4,16-30) Luke established program of Jesus salvation activity. Analysis are made in four stages: first, fragment has been singled out as a literary unit; then the structure of the text has been established; the structure settles foundation of the essential analysis of particular verses (stage three); context of the pericope is examined (stage four). Evangelist pictures Jesus as an Anointed Prophet. It may be said that Luke 4,16-30 is a programmatic passage for both Luke and Acts. Lk 4,16-30 contains typical elements of Luka's theology and predicts that the Church will continue the prophetical mission of Jesus.
