„Purification of the Temple (Mk 11,15-18) as an Announcement of Its Destruction”

The pericope Mk 11,15-18 is depicted by biblical scholars as the Temple Purification. Whereas interpretive tradition (based on importance of quotation Is 56,7 and Jr 7,11, that occur in Mark Mk 11,17) emphasizes the ethical aspect of narration, the act of Jesus seems to have prophetical character - it might be read as an announcement of Sanctuary demolition and destruction. The context of the pericope might be a confirmation of such interpretation.
