There is the first translation into Polish of the Syriac apocryphal work about the life of John the Baptist. This work is known as Vita Johannis Baptistae. Authorship has been ascribed to Serapion who was bishop in Egypt in the time of the Alexandrian Patriarch Teophil (385-412). The notes added to the translation contain biblical references, historical and geographic information, descriptions of early Christian beliefs concerning the precursor of Jesus.
